Rachel Kallander

Managing Partner, Kallander & Associates

Ms Kallander holds over a decade of experience in public relations, policy development and strategic communications. Having served in the US Congress, the Alaska State Legislature and in leadership positions on several Congressional political campaigns, she has been very active in the business and policy development efforts that impact the peoples of the Far North.

Ms Kallander worked for three years on the personal staff of Senator Lisa Murkowski in the United States Senate. During the 2010 election cycle, she served as the senior travelling assistant, working side-by-side with the Senator on a daily basis throughout both the primary race as well as the write-in campaign. She also served as Deputy Campaign Manager and Spokesperson for Senator Lisa Murkowski’s 2016 statewide re-election campaign in Alaska.

Building on her unique insight into best practice in policy making Ms Kallander founded Kallander & Associates LLC in 2013. She is also the Founder & Executive Director of the Arctic Encounter Symposium, the largest annual Arctic policy conference in the United States and also the host of the single Arctic policy side conference in Paris during the 2015 UN Convention on Climate – COP21.

Ms Kallander holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Seattle University and a Juris Doctorate from the School of Law at the University of Washington where her focus was on maritime, natural resource and human rights law. She is currently enrolled as a student at Harvard Business School.
