Arctic Program Director, WWF
Dr. Peter Winsor is the Director of WWF’s Arctic Programme, which has focused on Arctic conservation for almost three decades. Peter has worked in the Arctic for over 20 years as an oceanography professor and has over 40 publications in leading international journals covering oceanography, climate and ecosystems of the Arctic and Antarctica. Peter has lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for the last 10 years and has spent significant time in the Arctic and its communities both leading field work and exploring the landscape and mountains. He has participated in large field programs from crossing the Arctic Ocean on icebreakers to initiating community-based science in the Alaskan Arctic.
