The Arctic continental shelf constitutes some of the world’s largest remaining potential reserves for oil and gas. This provides business opportunities in the extraction of natural resources, energy and shipping. Development of renewable energy sources calls for substantially increasing access to rare-earth minerals and conventional metals. Wind and hydro-power potentials are also being explored.

Liv Monica Stubholt, Partner in Norwegian law firma Selmer DA - Liv Monica Stubholt has 25 years’ experience as a business lawyer focussing on natural resoruces particularly the seafood and energy sectors, including assisting foreign companies investing in Norway. She has held top executive positions in business and government. As deputy minister in the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs 2005 – 2007 she was responsible for Norway's bilateral relationship with USA, Russian and the EU. She subesequently served as deputy minister for Petroleum and Energy 2007-2009.  In both ministries she was charged with international business affairs and managing Norway's natural resources interests in the Arctic.

Klas BlomqvistEntrepreneur, Chairman of Norwegian-Finnish Trade Association - Klas Blomqvist is a business professional and the CEO and founder Verde Consulting Oy Ab.
