Simon Robidas (Canada)

École de technologie supérieure in Montréal

Simon Robidas asks the question of succeeding biological treatment of wastewater in cold water as part of his Master’s research project in Environmental Engineering at the École de technologie supérieure in Montreal. No effective biological water treatment technology exists on the market for northern conditions. The development of this technology will effectively remove nitrified pollutants from watercourses which are inter alia harmful to aquatic environments (endocrine disruptor, acute ecotoxicity of watercourses, etc.) Personally, being extremely sensitized and politicized regarding the challenges of the Arctic and the repercussions of anthropogenic activities on the melting of glaciers, he would like to deepen the discussions by exchanging with the mentors of the program in order to obtain their point of view regarding with technological advances, the various findings set out by the IPCC as well as the challenges of environmental and international rights linked to climate change.
