Pavlo Sokolov (Ukraine)

Pavlo Sokolov is a Ph.D. student at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, where he works on the ICEBoX project for the research Council of Norway as part of his Ph.D. He is a member of Arctic Technology & Icing Research Group at the Institute of Industrial Technology, UiT. He holds B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, Finland, Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering from VIA University College, Denmark, and M.Sc. in Engineering Design from UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.

Sokolov primarily works with ice physics modeling of the atmospheric ice accretion on structures, using analytical and numerical models, primarily from the fields of Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluid Structure Interaction, applied mathematics and structural engineering.  Sokolov has participated in several workshops and conferences regarding atmospheric icing of structures in addition to publishing several peer-reviewed journal and conference papers.
