Morven Muilwijk (Holland)
University of Bergen
I am originally from the Netherlands but grew up on the west coast of Norway, south of Bergen. I obtained a bachelor in meteorology and oceanography, and master in physical oceanography from the University of Bergen and Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego. Currently I am a Ph.D. candidate in physical oceanography at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research focusing on the polar regions. I work with in situ observations from the Arctic Ocean and a global earth system model (NorESM). My main research interest has been on historical oceanographic observations north of Svalbard, Atlantic Water circulation in the Arctic Ocean, oceanic heat transport, and ice-ocean interaction. I also work a lot with climate outreach and teach in high schools. Besides work, I like to spend time both on and in the water, hike in the mountains, and work part time for an NGO in Uganda.
