Magali Vullierme (France)

Magali Vullierme (PhD in Political Sciences) is a researcher at the CEARC (Université Paris-Saclay) and the Institute for Strategic Studies (IRSEM, Paris). She is also an associate researcher at the Observatoire de la Politique et de la Sécurité de l’Arctique (OPSA, Canada) and membre of the GDR Arctique (CNRS, France). Her focus is on security issues of Arctic regions. Her thesis, entitled “Canadian Rangers and Junior Canadian Rangers: vector of Human Security for Canadian Inuit”, studies relationships between non-Indigenous and Indigenous members of Rangers’ patrols. Since Novembre 2018, she is affiliated to the European project Nunataryuk and studies impacts of permafrost thaw for Arctic communities. She conducted several field works in the Canadian Arctic (with Canadian Rangers patrols in Nunavik and Nunavut), in Sakha-Yakutia Republic and in Greenland.
