Lars Ole Grottenberg

Lars Ole Grottenberg is a Research Fellow in Societal Safety and Emergency Management at the Department of Industrial Economics, Risk Management and Planning at the University of Stavanger. He is a part of the Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety (SEROS), as well as the GISIS research program area (Geographic Information Systems and Interdisciplinary Systems). His research covers societal safety, geographic information systems, and disaster management domains, with an emphasis on the role of spatial information in major crises and disasters in urban areas. His PhD-project seeks to develop new methods to make use of spatial information from urban systems and critical infrastructure to support decision-making in epidemiological outbreaks and disaster medicine, and explores new approaches to make use of composite datasets from these sources to detect, monitor, and understand outbreaks of infectious diseases in urban areas.
