Kim Mathieu (Canada)

University of Ottawa

Kim is French-Canadian from Québec, Canada. She graduated with a BSc- Ecological Determinants of Health from McGill University in Montreal and obtained a certificate in Climate Change and Health from Yale University. She is pursuing her master’s in social geography at the University of Ottawa and will be working at the guidance of Inuvialuit to advance food security in Inuit Nunungat.

In 2017, Kim was named one of two Parks Canada Youth Ambassadors, a position that gave her national exposure to engage with youth and act on the conservation and preservation of the culturally and naturally important places in Canada.  Now a guide and naturalist in the Arctic and Antarctic, she learns and teaches about the impacts of climate change in these regions while on board expedition vessels.
