University of Iceland

Christian DiBari (Chris) is a M.S. student at the University of Iceland in environment and natural resources with a focus on renewable energy, energy economics, and sustainability. His interest in the Arctic began in the final year of undergraduate studies where after taking an Arctic Policy class he applied to serve as an officer on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter HEALY, the only U.S. Arctic research icebreaker. On HEALY, Chris served as a ship-driver, public affairs officer, and law enforcement officer and supported missions from biological exploration to the first U.S. diving program in the Arctic in over ten years. In June, Chris will return to the U.S. Coast Guard and looks forward to serving on a buoy tender or small icebreaker. Chris holds a B.S. in Government (High Honors) from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. In his time off, Chris is an avid skier, hiker, and rugby player.
