New partners for Arctic Frontiers

Arctic Frontiers is attracting new partners. This summer two significant Norwegian institutions, The University of Bergen (Universitetet i Bergen) and The Norwegian Coastal Administration (Kystverket) have signed up as partners.

New partnersDag Rune Olsen, rector at UiB and Kirsti Slotsvik, Director General at The Norwegian Coastal Administration– Arctic Frontiers has developed to become an important arena for the Arctic dialogue. I am very impressed to see a growing number of international politicians in Tromsø each January, says Dag Rune Olsen, rector at The University of Bergen.

– Bergen is not situated within the Arctic Circle, but our university has a long tradition in Arctic science, the rector says. Due to a changing world, with the Arctic becoming more and more relevant for us all, all Norwegian universities has to increase their effort in research related to Arctic questions. – It was an easy decision to make, to sign up as partner for this conference, says Olsen.

Arctic Frontiers is an international arena on sustainable development in the Arctic. The conference addresses the management of opportunities and challenges to achieve viable economic growth with societal and environmental sustainability.

Arctic Frontiers brings academia, government and business together to create a firmer foundation for decision-making and sustainable economic development in the Arctic. The conference consists of three main pillars: policy, business and science.
