Broad international interest for Arctic Frontiers

The fact that the Arctic region is highly relevant for the international community could be seen at Arctic Frontiers presentation at Science in the City in Copenhagen in the end June.

Steen Ulrik Thaulow Johannessen, diplomatic correspondent at the Danish news agency Ritzau Bureau, explained how the Arctic region is seen by Scandinavian and international media. The Norwegian ambassador to Denmark, Ingvar Havnen, told the audience about Norway´s High North policy, and Arctic Frontiers role in securing an international debate on Arctic topics. Representatives from several embassies in Copenhagen, among them the Russian, the British and Polish embassy, were also present at the meeting.

The upcoming Arctic Frontiers 2015 will focus on climate and energy, and theme fits into the geopolitical debate concerning the High North.
